Tatra Mountains

If you plan to visit Krakow you should add one spare day to visit the Tatra Mountains and the wonderful Zakopane town, known as the winter capital of Poland. The Tatra Mountains region is famous for the unique wooden architecture and the genuine folk culture of the highlanders. This is the best place to get the spirit of Poland! Going to Zakopane and the Tatra Mountains for one day is enough to see all the musts: Chocholow village with the wooden cottages, Gubalowka Hill (panoramic view of the Tatra Mountains!) ski jumps, famous local market in Zakopane. For these who like active tourism we recommend going into the heart of the Tatra Mountains to see the beautiful lake called the Eye of the Sea.
