Wawel Castle – one of the most important historical sites in Poland. It is beautifully located on the top of the Wawel Hill and attracts thousands of visitors. The
Wawel Castle used to be the seat of the Polish kings till the beginning of the 17th century. Nowadays the Wawel Castle houses the museum presenting the interiors of the royal residence from the renaissance and the baroque period. Except for the state chambers and the privat apartments with the collection of the old paintings and furniture one can also visit the Treasury and the Armoury. Most of the visitors however vist the Wawel Castle for its outstanding collection of the Flemish tapestries from the 16th and the 17th century.
