Gallery of Contemporary Art "Bunkier Sztuki"

Bunkier Sztuki is not only one of the biggest gallery in the Malopolskie province, but also the biggest municipal gallery in Poland
(it has gigantic exhibition space of ca. 1,000 sq meters). The aim of the gallery was to create a contemporary arts center, whose influence would reach further than locality, maintaining international standards.

These aims found continuation in the creation of the Bunkier Sztuki Club (KBS) in 1997. As a consequence of an intense and challenging exhibition programme it was necessary to organize discussions that would comment the issues taken up by the exhibiting artists. The artistic programme in Bunkier focuses on presentation of three issues of contemporary art.

The first is the work of young artists that are ahead of the trends and problems of the 21st century art. The second – the artists of the middle generation who perfect the art of our times. The third is a result of the questions that the artists ask themselves and the problems that result from the relations between them.

Last year we opened a new exhibition space called Dolna Gallery. It was established in order to present solo exhibitions.
