During this tour we will move more than 500 years back to medieval Cracow. We will see the medieval remains and discover what life might have been like at that time...
We will start on the Wawel Hill, for centuries the centre of power of the Polish state, with its magnificent renaissance Royal Castle and the Cathedral with the royal tombs, Sigismundus’ Bell and the crypt. Next we will see Kanonicza - the oldest street in Krakow. Then Grodzka Street will lead us to the Bishop’s Palace and the Franciscan Church, where we will admire the exceptional stained glass windows and art nouveau art. Later we will walk around the area of the Main Market Square and discover the splendid medieval history of Krakow. We will visit the Cloth Hall to see where the merchants used to trade … and find the traces of a crime that took place here 600 years ago. In St. Mary’s Church we will admire the biggest medieval altar of Europe. Then we will follow the remains of the medieval walls and try to imagine the fortifications and the defense system of the city. We will also hear the most famous defender of the city – the trumpeter in the tower of St. Mary’s Church!
